The ministry noted a “wave of”disturbing occurrences” of expressions of anti-Semitism and Islamophobia following the October 7 attack on Israel by the Hamas terrorist organization.

American media reported cases of physical violence and threats of its use in universities and schools. Anti-Semitic and racist inscriptions were found on the territory of educational institutions. One video circulating online showed youth tearing down posters of Israelis captured by Hamas militants.

“Hate has no place in our schools – and this issue is closed!” – noted US Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona. In his opinion, educational institutions must guarantee safety for all students,irrespective of their religious or ethnic origins . U.S. educational institutions are required by law to protect students from discrimination as outlined in the Civil Rights Act.
